Step 1: Connect Your Android device

First, launch Android Data Recovery software on computer and choose "Data Recovery"

Now connect your Android device to computer via USB cable.

Note: Make sure that you have enabled USB debugging on your Android device

After your device is identified, you will see the screen as below:

Step 2: Choose file types to Scan

When your device is connected successfully, Android Data Recovery will show the types of data it supports. It has checked all types of files by default. You just need to choose the data type you wish to recover.

If your device is rooted then Android Data Recovery will give two options: Scan for deleted files and Scan for all files. Selecting Scan for all files will take longer time but it will scan the file thoroughly.

Now tap on "Next" to continue the recovery process. The recovery program will examine your phone first

And now your device will be scanned to recover lost data. This entire process will some moment so just wait and relax.

Step 3: Preview and restore lost data from Android phone

After the scan is finished, now you can preview the recovered data one by one. Here you should check the items you need and then tap on "Recover" to save in your computer.

Part II: Steps To Recover Data From Android SD Card

Step 1: Connect your microSD card via Android phone or card reader

First, launch Android Data Recovery to computer and choose "Data Recovery"

Now connect your SD card to computer. Two ways are there to connect your SD card: Using card reader or using your Android phone with it. Select the better way for you and then tap on "Next" to proceed.

After your SD card is detected by program, you will get the below window. Then tap on "Next" to continue

Step 2: Choose a scan mode to scan SD card

There are two scanning modes are available, first is "Standard" and the second one is "Advance". When you fail to find what you want then try Advance Mode. With the use of Standard Mode, you can select only deleted files to scan or scan for all files on SD card. The other one that is suggested will help you to search more complete files.

Then choose a recovery mode you want to try and tap on "Next" to start the scanning process of SD card

Step 3: Preview and Restore Data from your SD Card Selectively

It will scan your SD card and after the completion of scanning process, all the recoverable files will be displayed according to their categories. From the left sidebar, you can click on different data types to display the related files. You can check or un-check the files and then click "Data Recovery" to start the data recovery process.

Part III: Steps To Recover Data From Broken Android Phone

Step 1: Connect your Android device to computer

First, launch Android Data Recovery program on compute and choose "Data Recovery"

Now connect your device to computer via USB cable and then select "Recover Data from Android" from the display screen

Step 2: Select the data types to recover from broken phone

In this window you can select the data type that you want to restore. By default all the data types are selected. Click on "Next to continue.

Note: This option only extracts the existing data on the broken Android phone.

Step 3: Choose the fault type which matches your situation

From the available types of fault choose one that matches to your situation, which are Touch does not work or cannot access the phone, and Black/broken screen. Click on the one which you have, it will then lead you to the next window.

At the new window, select the accurate "Device Name" and "Device Model" for your phone. Currently this function only works for some Samsung devices in Galaxy S, Galaxy Note and Galaxy Tab series. And click on the "Next".

Confirm twice that you have selected the correct Device Name and Device Model. If you provide any wrong information then it may lead to bricking your phone or any other errors. If all the information is accurate then, key in "Confirm" and click on confirm button to continue.

Step 4: Enter Download Mode on the Android phone

Here you need to follow the instructions of program to get your Android phone in Download Mode

  • Turn off the phone.
  • Press and hold Volume "-", "Home" and "Power" button on the phone.
  • Press "Volume +" button to enter download mode.

Step 5: Analyze the Android phone

After entering your phone into download mode, this tool will start to analyze the phone and download the recovery package.

Step 6: Preview and Recover the data from broken Android phone

After the completion of analysis you will see all the file types by categories. Then you will be able to choose the files to preview. Select the files that you want and click on the "Recover" to save all the selected data.
